The majestic wolf, skillful predator, kind family member, has been misunderstood to the point of endangerment. Fear, hatred and the need to control the wolf’s untamable wildness created a world in which slaughter is acceptable and encouraged. There is no doubt the we humans bear responsibility for the protection of these magnificent creatures.
The majestic wolf, skillful predator, kind family member, has been misunderstood to the point of endangerment. Fear, hatred and the need to control the wolf’s untamable wildness created a world in which slaughter is acceptable and encouraged. There is no doubt that we humans bear responsibility for the protection of these magnificent creatures. However, the awe and admiration which have replaced the fear and hatred, have not removed the human need to control. When this need to control results in putting down the very nature of the wolf itself, the danger is that we will involuntarily diminish the wildness that so many people have worked so hard to preserve.
